Call for Scripts

Evolution Theatre Company has launched its first annual New Plays In Summer series.

The theater company's play-reading committee is currently seeking new work from playwrights.  Three scripts will be selected for staged readings during the summer of 2010 and the most promising script of these three will be given a full production in 2011 with the playwright receiving a $150 cash award.
The play-reading committee will be looking for full-length dramas and comedies that have never been seen in full production.  Plays that have had previous readings will be accepted.  Musicals and children's plays will not be considered.

The submission fee is $15 per work submitted.  A playwright may submit any number of plays but the submission fee applies to each work submitted.  This provides the revenue to produce the three finalists' staged readings and the full production of the winning play.
Committee members will read all scripts and provide constructive feedback on all entries. In addition to the script and submission fee, each playwright is asked to include a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive the feedback or a large self-addressed stamped envelope to have the
script returned.

Winners will be notified by mail and posted on our website on June 1, 2010.

Please make checks payable to Evolution Theatre Company.
Please mail materials to: Evolution Theatre Company, New Plays In Summer, P O Box 21072, Columbus, OH 43221-0072
Submissions must be postmarked no later than February 27, 2010.

Email submissions in pdf format ONLY will be accepted and may be sent to info@evolutiontheatre.org
